On the morning of Convocation, each student will receive a set of Arcane Texts from which their academic journey will unfold. These texts contain the ideas, tools, and possibilities that will shape the work ahead. Some will reveal clear direction immediately. Others will invite experimentation and discovery.
There is no single correct path.
Only the one you choose to pursue.
Building Your Academic Thesis
In traditional universities, a thesis represents the culmination of study. It is the expression of a student’s understanding, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
At Strixhaven, your thesis takes the form of the deck you construct.
Each card you select becomes part of your argument.
Each decision reflects your priorities.
Each adjustment shows how you respond to new information.
You are not simply assembling pieces.
You are developing a plan.
Some students will pursue elegant solutions built on careful coordination. Others will favor bold strategies that rely on decisive action. Many will refine their ideas as the day progresses, learning from each match and adapting along the way.
This process is not about perfection.

A Structured and Supportive Environment
For many students, this will be their first time participating in a draft. That is completely expected, and the University has designed the day to support both new and experienced scholars alike.
Instructions will be provided clearly.

The goal is not to test how fast you can work.
The goal is to help you succeed.

Although each student builds their own thesis, the experience is shared.
You will sit alongside fellow scholars, exchange ideas, observe new strategies, and learn from one another throughout the day. The room will be filled with conversation, curiosity, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from solving problems together.

Enrollment for the upcoming term continues, and the University is pleased to share that registration is not yet full.
