Diggory Butterburrow has heard of folk from a distant country who carry illustrated cards and speak quite freely of spells, lands, artifacts, and dragons. Whether this is true magic, clever trickery, or an exceptionally complicated game remains unsettled.
What is certain is that such travelers ought to be welcomed properly—with breakfast, comfortable chairs, abundant provisions, and a full day set aside for their curious card-table arts.
